MEMBERSHIP
The CanAsian Arts Network (CAAN) aims to digitally connect Canadian Asian artists and industry representatives from coast to coast to coast with the purpose of improving equity and representation in the arts.
CAAN is not the arbiter of who self-identifies as Canadian Asian / Asian Canadian.
Membership is also extended to CAAN partners who support this initiative financially or through in-kind services.
RESPECT
CAAN re-imagines programming, education and advocates for gaps in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging for our communities. We strive to share expertise, build resources, and offer mentorship to develop national projects that increase visibility and impact, while forging pluralistic alliances and addressing the complexities of our intersectionality.
CAAN is not the arbiter of artistic expression.
We believe that unity and oppositional viewpoints can co-exist in the Asian community and amongst those who practice and support Asian art and cultural forms and together we reflect on the evolving Canadian identity and celebrate cultural, artistic, and social diversity.
